Subject: Proposed NGV Station in Northern Region

Now that we already had three NGV stations in Rawang, it will be an ideal situation if we can have NGV stations at Tanjong Malim, Bidor and Ipoh Garden ( Ipoh), interval at around 60 to 70 km. We already have NGV station at Kamunting and Parit Bundar which is pending their operation ,probably end of this year.

Once all the above extra new NGV stations are build and operational, we can travel all the way from north to South without worrying of filling up our NGV tank.

It is really a big joke as Ipoh being a City has got no NGV station.

Kuantan should deserve a NGV station, at least by next year and Trengganu, a gas producing state has no NGV station.

I just cannot understand the logic.

They should have NGV stations near the exit from North South Highway - like the Melaka 3rd NGV Station near Air Keroh exit. They definately need one urgently in Perak and must be near to highway. Was told by Petronas insider that it is not that Petronas don't want to build station inside the highway, it is PLUS who refuses to allow it citing security reasons.

Agreed with cpchin on Kuantan and Trengganu. Read in newspaper recently that Kelantan State Govt opening to any compnay willing to setup NGV stations in Kelantan. Heard from a friend that in Miri, Sarawak, a private company is looking into doing it small scale.

Last time, I heard that G*G*S - Encik Rahman promoting his ideas of mother station, daughter station and mobile station. Wonder what happends to him and G*G*S. Now, the website is down. Hope he could bring his idea to Kelantan State Govt and then expand the East Cost Side.

Petronas has a gas distribution monitoring station in Segamat, Johor. But there is no station there.

I wonder how much does it cost to put up a mobile station? Look at this video on youtube

Petronas promised 200 NGV stations by when? End of 2009?

Hope that MDTCA Minister YB JB MP will revisit and follow-up with Petronas.

JUST experienced it yesterday by using RM40+ a trip to BM,Penang.
Recommend to use high way and LOW way (quite smooth n save)..haha...

Pump full Ngv at Rawang then turn in PLUS h/way out at Tanjong Malim
toll RM 6.20(toll), then have a dinner at T.Malim (Kon Chao Hor)then
continue my destination by using old route till Gopeng.(smooth road)
Then turn into PLUS h/way at Gopeng. My Ngv tank 77L last till Kamunting H/way is about 260km. Then continue to use petrol and turn out at Taiping, toll fees are RM11.70 then use old route again will pass by Bagan Serai, Parit Buntar, Nibong Tebal(these 3 place Ngv machine are there but no gas yet). Then use Tasek towards Bukit Teh and arrive BM.
Total milleage are 327km till Bukit Mertajam.
So the toll fees are RM 6.20 + RM 11.70 = RM 17.90
Ngv 260km = RM 10.08 (Pump the next day at Tmn.Kobis, Kulim Kedah)
Petrol 67km = RM 13.40
So total expenses are RM 41.38 1 way only!
iF 2 WAY cost me RM82.76 ONLY !!
Total destination about 4 1/2 hrs to 5 hrs.

*Before install Ngv, travel by petrol and use PLUS H/way fully are:
320km X RM0.20 = RM64.00
Plus toll fees = RM37.50
Total cost me = RM 101.50 / 1 way
If 2 way cost = RM 203.00
Nomarlly take about 4hrs.

Regarding NGV in Ipoh and Kuantan, I think long overdue. NGV consumers must write in to the Star that we need the supply in these areas.

Petronas is just going to slow and the stations are note well distributed. Imagine, whole of Pahang do not have a NGV kiosk. Moreover our PM is from Pekan Pahang and consumers are not enjoying this facility.

I called Tronoh a few times but they cannot give me an answer when the staion will be in operation.
