I have visited this station some time ago and make the following findings:
1) Only one dispenser, located at the left side of the main entrence.
2) An operator was stationed there and indicated that there are less then 100 users on a normal day. During weekends or fastive holidays there are more.
3) This station can be classified as a Mother Station since it has a compressor connected to the gas pipeline.

Mych,
Due to very limited numbers of NGV converted vehicles on the island Petronas is reluctant to introduce any NGV station.
If I am not mistaken there are less then 300 vehicles with NGV in Province Wellesly and Penang.
It is a chicken and egg situation. I hope one day Dato Koh Soo Koon will approach Petronas to ask for at least one NGV station on the Island.

I think I have read an article about Penang would be setting up NGV station somewhere last month in The Star. Here the link http://www.ngvcommunity.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=224
But you know lah, I think it takes time to approve.

Frankly if all the cabs on Penang island switch to NGV there are enought cars to make Petronas want to built an NGV station.
Their problem is to have a mobile truck to sent the gas across. As U are well aware there is no gas pipeline on the Island. All gas need to be trucked onto the island
The cost of one truck is closed to 1 Million. The station is at least 800,000.
The Prai NGV station do have the ability to be the mother station but Petronas NGV must have other priority.

Abu,
If U can please take some photos and load onto the site.
Also do chat with the pump attendant who attend to U and make some investigation about the number of vehicles visiting the dispenser, collection per day and etc.
Check the speed to fill up your tank and perhaps how much is the max that will fill your tank.
This will help a lot of us to know more or less the strength of Prai NGV station in delivering NGV.
I came across a paper telling me all the models of compressors that were installed at each Petronas Stations and what kind of delivery pressures they are designed at.
Once in my hand will transfer into this website.
Have a good trip and drive carefully. Bye

Hi abu raiyan,
Here is how you can go to the Petronas Prai NGV.

There are two ways to get to Petronas Prai (NGV) coming from the north-south highway.
Route 1 (Refer green line) 1) As you drive north on the north-south highway, you will reach Juru Toll. 2) After Juru Toll, you should keep watch for Juru Exit (The exit is not far from the toll). 3) Take the Juru Exit and you will reach a traffic junction. At that junction, turn left 4) You will reach another traffic junction. At this junction you should turn right into Jalan Perusahaan. 5) Jalan Perusahaan is a long stretch of road. Just drive straight. 6) Jalan Perusahaan will eventually force you to turn left. Just follow the left turn. 7) Along this stretch, you should watch for the first right turn available. Take that right turn. 8) Along this stretch, you should watch for the first right turn available as well. Take that right turn. 9) At the end of this strecth, you need to turn left. 10) This road will eventually split to two (one to Penang Bridge and one to Prai). Just follow the path to Prai. 11) From there just drive straight until the end. Petronas Prai is on your left just before a roundabout.
Route 2 (Refer red line) 1) As you drive north on the north-south highway, you will reach Juru Toll. 2) After Juru Toll, you just drive straight. Keep watch for the Penang Bridge Exit. 3) After taking the Penang Bridge Exit. You should keep to the very left most lane along that road (This is the U turn lane). 4) This lane will eventually U turn and gradually merge to the main road. 5) Just keep left and watch for the Prai sign. Take that left turn. 6) From there just drive straight until the end. Petronas Prai is on your left just before a roundabout.
Hope this helps.

Powersensor,
Thanks for the photo and if you can try to add a few more.
Example:
1) The Compressor serving the dispenser.
2) The pipe that feed the gas to the compressor.
3) The Q of people waiting to fill up their gas tank (I doubt any)
4) The pressure gauge on the dispenser when U finnish filling.
By the way please ask the permission to snap photograph. Nanti U masuk lokap.
Thanks

The Prai Petronas operating hour is as shown below: Mon - Friday 6:30am to 11:30pm Saturday 6:30am to 10:30pm Sunday 6:30am to 8:30pm
After the operating hour, the station is closed (lights out). However, you can still get gas there by just paying the security guard duit kopi. He will unlock the NGV pump and fill the gas for you. All you need to do is pay for the gas + RM1 duit kopi. This is a common practice at that station so consider the RM1 as his service charge.

The Prai Petronas recently changed the Gas dispensing hours to: 6:30am to 11:30pm everyday. No gas will be available after 11:30pm

Ying,
It seem that nobody can reply to U on the Tronoh NGV station.
I wud like to suggest that Phillip to write to Petronas Dagangan and ask them where will the 200 - 54 = 146 NGV stations which they promised to the Raakyat be located.
Then phillip can open a new list of New and Going to be Installed NGV station one by one.
When that is done then we members can pantau or monitor their status.
Phillip please so some homework please?

thanks, harry.
i called petronas ngv and was told that the tronoh ngv will available in sept 07. there will be another ngv station coming up soon some where near prai ngv station (thisn't very clever of petronas). the good news is there will be a ngv station in taiping some time next year.
will be good to get an official feedback from petronas on their expansion programme.

Since 2nd Feb I was in Penang until today 12th Feb. I pump gas not less then 5x in this station. Maybe the pressure is high so I always get alot of gas (meaning need to pay RM8 even indicator still showing 1/2 the tank full for 60L tank). My car start jerking when using ngv mode from this station. Last night was my last visit to the station to pump gas before I came back to KL. Because my gas can't last until KL, I decided to exit at Rawang toll and refuel there (new ngv station). My car is currently very stable without giving me such a problem. I've called Petronas (1300 88 8181 - Yati) to feedback. According to Petronas, they will feedback after they investigate. The reason I called Petronas because my car can go for 230km with NGV but on the 2nd Feb, when I travel to Alor Setar after I refuel - RM11.20, my car start jerking and when I arrive home (about 190km travel), my tank no more gas and the funny part is that I also uses petrol when the car jerking coz I thought my car might be something wrong. It couldn't be just a day problem because I've used it for many days and many gas refuel at Petronas Prai. Another reason is that my installer suggested it might be because the gas contain too much air. If this is true, we're buying air from Petronas...
